Graphic arts for everyone

Griffelkunst-Vereinigung Hamburg e.V. produces limited editions of prints in the graphic arts since 1925. The portfolio ranges from historic photography to editions of contemporary artists and is presented twice a year to over 4300 members.

Graphic Arts Prize

The first Griffelkunst chairman Erich Arp (1910 - 1999) initiated a Graphic Arts Prize for which an artist may be selected by the Griffelkunst Jury. The prize has been awarded in irregular intervals since 1989.

Membership

Griffelkunst currently has 4.500 members and a long waiting list. In keeping with Griffelkunst´s offer of limited editions, thus ensuring their value, new entries for the waiting list will not be accepted for at least 5 years. As soon as we open the waiting list again we will post the information on this website.

Exhibitions for members

Every May and November Griffelkunst presents the seasonal exhibition to its members in its headquarter Oberaltenallee 78 in Hamburg. The exhibition is also shown in 84 other venues all over Germany where members can meet and pick their new choices from about 40 different works as well as collect the prints they had signed up for the previous season.

A professional jury meets twice a year to vote on the selection of artists commissioned to produce a work which is then presented to all members in our edition program.
